Composition per liter:
FeSO 4 ·7H 2 O................................................................................13.9g
MgSO 4 ·7H 2 O................................................................................0.5g
(NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 .....................................................................................0.4g
K 2 HPO 4 .........................................................................................0.2g
KCl................................................................................................0.1g
pH 1.7 ± 0.2 at 25°C
Preparation of Medium: Add components to distilled/deionized
water and bring volume to 1.0L. Mix thoroughly. Adjust pH to 1.7 with
H 2 SO 4 . Distribute into tubes or flasks. Autoclave for 15 min at 15 psi
pressure–121°C.
Use: For the autotrophic cultivation of Sulfobacillus acidophilus.
