Composition per liter:

KNO 3 ............................................................................................1.0g
KH 2 PO 4 ........................................................................................1.0g
K 2 HPO 4 ........................................................................................1.0g
NaCl..............................................................................................1.0g
MgSO 4 ..........................................................................................0.2g
CaCl 2 ..........................................................................................0.02g
FeCl 3 ..........................................................................................1.0mg
pH 6.8–7.0 at 25°C
Preparation of Medium: Add components to distilled/deionized
water and bring volume to 1.0L. Mix thoroughly. Distribute into tubes
or flasks. Autoclave for 30 min at 15 psi pressure–121°C. After inocu-
lation, sparge medium with natural gas.
Use: For the cultivation of Rhodococcus luteus, Rhodococcus rhodo-
chrous, Rhodococcus ruber, Rhodococcus species, and other bacteria
that can grow on natural gas.
