Alkaline Peptone Salt Broth
(APS Broth)
Composition per liter:
NaCl............................................................................................30.0g
Peptone .......................................................................................10.0g
Preparation of Medium: Add components to distilled/deionized
water and bring volume to 1.0L. Mix thoroughly. Adjust pH to 8.5.
Distribute into tubes in 10.0mL volumes. Autoclave for 10 min at 15
psi pressure–121°C.
Use: For the cultivation of Vibrio cholerae and other Vibrio species
from foods.
