Composition per liter:

Peptone .......................................................................................10.0g
NaCl..............................................................................................5.0g
Agar..............................................................................................4.0g
Beef extract...................................................................................3.0g
2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium chloride...........................................0.05g
Preparation of Medium: Add components to distilled/deionized
water and bring volume to 1.0L. Mix thoroughly. Distribute into screw-
capped tubes in 8.0mL volumes. Autoclave for 15 min at 15 psi pres-
sure–121°C.
Use: For the cultivation, maintenance, and observation of the motility
of Listeria monocytogenes.
